Have a real Spanish new year in the amazing city of Valencia in our hostels!
New years night is always a legendary night in our hostel! A lot of fun and international young people will bring you your best New Year party in Valencia.
New Year is, as usual, party time and Valencia will go crazy. Many venues will host New Year events and the crowds will gather on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento for the year’s biggest fireworks (and in Valencia, this means VERY BIG fireworks) at midnight. They may also instead do a spectacular public function with a light show and fireworks at the City of Arts and Sciences – check with the tourist office. One particular tradition is to eat 12 grapes (Las Uvas) for each chime of the clock, to bring good luck for the new year. You can buy these just about anywhere.
What to do? Go out, mix with the crowds, watch the fireworks at midnight, have Las Uvas for good luck in the new year, and party till dawn.
Actually, a lot of places (restaurants and bars) are not open for NYE so you should probably head to the Carmen district in the city centre where you should find the best places. After dinner and eating the typical 12 grapes (Spanish tradition for good luck during the coming year) you can walk around the bar areas, Canovas, Carmen, Juan Llorens, Ave. Aragon, etc.
