The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an extremely large complex devoted to scientific and cultural dissemination distributed in five main buildings: the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vantage point and car park), the Prince Felipe Science Museum (an innovative centre of interactive science), the Oceanogràfic (the largest aquarium in Europe with over 500 marine species) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (the international Opera house of Valencia and landmark of the city). The Agora is a kind of multifunctional space.
Along an axis of around two kilometres that was formerly the bed of the River Turia, this complex has amazing architecture – designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela – and an endless capacity for entertaining and stimulating the minds of international visitors. In its different spaces they can get to know different aspects of science, technology, nature, and art.
The City of Arts and Sciences is quite close to Valencia Flats hotels, to Youth Hostel Home hostels and Rooms Deluxe in Valencia.
